AMERICAN ROLLER COMPANY ACQUIRES PLASMA COATINGS |
Union Grove, WI (December 1, 2003) American Roller Company, a Union Grove, Wisconsin based roller manufacturer has acquired Plasma Coatings, Inc., a manufacturer of thermal and release coatings. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This is the second major acquisition by American Roller Company in the last 2 months. On October 10, 2003 American Roller purchased Champion Roller Company of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Plasma Coatings, Inc., established in 1969, is a pioneer of flame-sprayed special surface material coatings for rollers and a variety of other industrial parts. These coatings are primarily applied when non-stick, corrosion resistance and wear resistance properties are required. Its processes include metalizing, electric arc spray, thermal spray, plasma spray and HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel). It has over 20 different standard series of coatings of which many are proprietary and patented. Many are applied on-site at the customer’s place of business. Plasma offers a large and diverse selection of state-of-the-art coating options for the paper, non-woven, adhesives, converting, printing, petrochemical, label, diaper, rubber and tire, pharmaceutical, food and soap industries. American Roller Company’s Arcotech Plant, located in Wisconsin, also utilizes many of the same processes as Plasma Coatings for its ceramic, metal matrix and Escort line of release coating products, and has the additional capability to grind finish these types of coatings to exacting tolerances.
"The acquisition of Plasma Coatings further expands our product and service offerings to the customers of our combined companies, and it expands American Roller’s geographic presence in North America", said Chuck Tasch, Chief Executive Officer of American Roller. "The combined team of Plasma, Champion and American is sure to yield many benefits for all of our customers, vendors and employees", Tasch further stated.
American Roller Company (www.americanroller.com) has manufacturing facilities throughout the continental United States. Plasma Coatings (www.plasmacoatings.com) has two plants, one in Connecticut and another in Tennessee, as well as nine licensees throughout the world. American Roller currently manufactures a full range of synthetic rubber, polyurethane, ceramic and metal matrix coatings, nylon, heated rollers, steel and composite cores and shafts, bowed rollers, and chilled rollers for the converting, metals processing, business machine, graphic arts, pulp and paper and non-woven markets. With the addition of Plasma Coatings, American Roller will have greater roll size capabilities for its industrial hard-coat products to match the greater roll size capability attained with the purchase of Champion Roller. Founded in 1938, American Roller maintains a state-of-the-art research center at its headquarters in Union Grove, Wisconsin committed to providing its valued customers ever-improving roller performance.
